Ekam Yoga Retreat | 25-27 April 201

The retreat will bring together a small group of our most loved and experienced festival presenters for a weekend at Francis Retreat, Bonny Hills. Eve Gryzbowski, Denis Juelicher, Yoga Rebel, Jaye Roberts and Kalray Menezes will all contribute to this retreat, sharing yoga in all its facets with you.

They will share how yoga enriches their lives and give you the tools to live well with yoga. The theme of the retreat – Living Yoga – sets the stage for a retreat that focuses on how we take yoga off our mats and into our lives, creating more balance and contented lives.

The weekend includes yoga asana (postures), meditation, pranayama (breathing), sound healing & relaxation, talks & group discussion. There will also be free time to relax, enjoy time at the beach or chat to fellow participants.

IMG_7569 Alicia Fox PhotographyWe will start out days with breathing exercises and meditation. The breath is a wonderful tool to create a vibrant, healthy body. It can also help us access calm and peaceful states of mind. The early sessions will be led by Denis Juelicher from The Yoga Shala in Port Macquarie. Denis began her yoga journey at the Sydney Yoga Centre in 1998. Through years of dedicated Ashtanga Yoga practice and teaching, she has started to experience the breath as an incredible, transformational tool.

Many of you will have experienced Eve’s depth of teaching at Ekam Festival.Eve is an inspiration to generations of yoga teachers across Australia. She has founded yoga studios, trained and mentored many yoga teachers.

Yoga Rebel will lead group discussions and talks on Yoga Philosophy and Yoga in Daily Life. Here you will have the opportunity to learn about strategies to get you living life well consciously, through food choices and daily habits. We will also explore how Yoga Philosophy applies IMG_7583 Alicia Fox Photographyto our lives. Rebel has been practising Yoga since she was in her early teens. Her passion lies in connecting with students and sharing the philosophy and practice of Yoga. Rebel has a background in Clinical Naturothapy of over 25 years, which has given her a keen and in-depth knowledge of the body and how Yoga can deepen our awareness of not only our physical bodies, but also our mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

There will be plenty of free time tIMG_7932 Alicia Fox Photographyo enjoy the beautiful grounds, take a walk by the ocean, go for a swim or chat with fellow participants.

The weekend will include a number of sessions that allow us to relax deeply, so you can leave the retreat relaxed and rejuvenated. These include Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation), and sound vibration sessions with Jaye Roberts (Gongs) and Kalray Menezes (Tibetan Bowls).

Unlike at festival time, everyone will stay on the grounds, and numbers are limited to allow all participants to connect. Whole food Chef, Sarah Wilton will provide nourishing, vegetarian meals using mostly organic/chemical-free, local ingredients.

Accommodation is in shared dorm rooms or shared/double & single rooms in cabins, catering for different needs and budgets.

Spend a weekend immersing yourself in yoga in a beautiful setting close to the ocean. We will make the most of the wonderful grounds, with its majestic gum trees, for sessions and relaxation time.
